ABOUT US

Our company is a pioneer in the energy sector with a total of 2311 MW investments in natural gas, renewable energy, and oil. Focusing on wind and hydroelectric power plants in its energy sector activities that started in 1994, our company has developed projects by establishing its own measurement and analysis teams for WPP (Wind Power Plant) projects.

The 14 MW Hacılar HEPP investment, which is the first licensed hydroelectric power plant established by the private sector, was realized in Darende - Malatya and this plant was put into commercial operation in 2003. Likewise, the investment of the 30 MW Bandırma WPP, the first licensed wind power plant established by the private sector, was realized by Bilgin Energy and put into commercial operation in 2006. Bilgin Energy is also the first company in Turkey to receive a carbon emission certificate for the energy produced by its renewable energy plant investments.

Bilgin Energy has brought a total of 1421 MW of installed capacity based on renewable resources, including 370 MW of wind and 1051 MW of hydroelectric, to the national economy. With this installed capacity, an annual average of 4.5 billion kWh of electrical energy is produced from domestic and renewable resources.

The 890 MW Samsun Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, which joined our company in 2018, is one of the most efficient plants with the lowest emissions in Turkey. Bilgin Samsun Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant has an electricity generation capacity of approximately 7 billion kWh per year with its advanced technology.

Reaching an installed capacity of 2311 MW with fully nature-friendly and environmental facilities, predominantly plants based on renewable energy sources and a natural gas combined cycle power plant, Bilgin Energy has reached the potential to meet approximately 3.5% of Turkey's electricity consumption.

In addition to its existing domestic and renewable energy production plant investments, Bilgin Energy started working on oil and natural gas in 2013. Accordingly, since 2016, it has started to focus on its activities in this sector by purchasing the shares of London-based Genel Energy, which is traded on the London Stock Exchange. Currently, 25% of Genel Energy's shares belong to Bilgin Energy.
